I went with one of my friends to a spa this weekend. We had a full day of treatments and access to the pool, hydo pool and saunas. It was bliss. Self care is one of my favourite things to remind people of but yet I fail to heed my own advice.
It has been ages since I could relax in a pool with no time limit or need to be someplace. I sat in the hydro pool and closed my eyes. I let my body become limp and let the bubbles move me as they willed. I found in that space of weightlessness and the sound of water occupying my ears that my body was able to completely relax and let go. Tethered to my body my consciousness was able to soar and connect in that meditative space. By taking care of my body I also nurtured my spirit.
