We shifted consciousness to the rhythm of a drum while gazing deeply into the shining skin of an apple. What I found were answers to questions asked by the moonlight in the Grove that night. Scrying has since been a practice I continue to use. It helps to see what may be in darkness or reflect truth back in the light. I have an obsidian scrying mirror that I use on a regular basis. As Mabon approaches, I use an apple. Mabon is a special time as it is when I dedicated myself to this path. It is the celebration of the harvest and a time when trees are laden with apples. After I am granted my answers, I bless and thank all who aided me and eat the apple. So I share with you a simple spell: Find a reflective surface (even the face of a mobile will work) Light a candle Sit or stand in a comfortable position Close your eyes, take three deep belly breaths. Dance, chant/sing, move, breathe to move into a meditative or trance state Say the following: By the light of the soaring moon Grant to me this simple boon Show me all above and below Tell me now what I must know.... Open your eyes and gaze into the reflective surface. Once you have an answer, bless and thank the information and informant/s Extinguish the candle or let it burn out. Blessed Be your work

9/6/2016 1 Comment Rite of ReleaseI am a HUGE animal lover. One thing I find really challenging is seeing and animal who has been killed by a car. I could never look as it broke my heart. I felt the ache and loss of such a beautiful creature to speeding metal. It made me feel helpless. I came across this rite about 15 years ago and it has served me and all those bright souls well: I picture the animal whole and happy while saying: Small friend, In the name of the Gracious Lady I bid you to forget your broken shell It can serve you no longer I bid you in the Name of the Patroness of things wild and free, To go beyond.... To rest, to enjoy the Summerland Blessed Be small friend and farewell from Magical Rites from the Crystal Well by Ed Fitch 9/1/2016 0 Comments Al Fresco |
